The Florida Earth Foundation has scheduled its third public forum for discussions that it began last fall about water resource issues in Florida. The foundation’s Water Choices III will be held July 7 at the University of North Florida’s University Center in Jacksonville, and registration is now open.
According to the foundation’s website, “Water Choices III is insuring the think tank conversations that began last October at the University of Central Florida and this past February at the University of Miami continue to impact not just personal behaviors vs. regulators but make a difference now and in generations to come.”
The tentative agenda includes discussions by St. Johns River Water Management District staff about the St. Johns River Water Supply Impact Study that is evaluating the potential environmental effects of proposed river water withdrawals on the plants, animals and water resources of the St. Johns River. The study’s final report is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
